Create a safe, engaging learning environment that promotes academic success, physical fitness, and life skills for global citizenship. Develop and implement lesson plans and activities through in-person and virtual learning formats. Communicate with district personnel, students, and parents via phone, email, or video conferencing. Assess student progress, document performance, and prepare reports on achievement, attendance, and classroom performance. Manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook. Participate in conferences with parents, students, counselors, teachers, and administrators as required. Perform instructional duties such as ordering materials, attending meetings, and professional development sessions. Supervise and direct paraprofessionals or instructional aides as needed. Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality. Additional Requirements for Special Education Teachers Identify educational needs and provide instruction to students with exceptionalities. Follow IEPs, assess and monitor student progress, and communicate with families. Serve as case manager for students with disabilities, maintaining relevant documentation and facilitating IEP meetings. Adhere to Georgia professional educator ethics. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Valid Georgia teaching certificate in the relevant educational field. Specialized Certifications For special education, certification in applicable areas such as Special Education or Adaptive Curriculum. For ESOL & Gifted, appropriate endorsements are required.
