Join Our Team as a Mother-Baby Nurse!

Position Highlights:

• Dynamic Unit Environment:
  • Deliver approximately 1,300 babies each year!
  • 18 Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum (LDRP) Rooms
  • 10 Antepartum/Postpartum Rooms
  • 5 Triage Rooms
  • 2 Operating Rooms
  • 7 Level II Nursery Rooms
• Patient Population:
  • Providing Women and Children’s services to families throughout Central Illinois
  • Level II Nursery with neonatology services
• Nurse to Patient Ratio:
  • Our Nursing Care Committee collaborates to establish patient acuity-based guidelines for staffing, ensuring optimal care and support.
• Department Culture:
  • Experience a culture of shared governance where your voice matters! Collaborate with leaders to shape patient care and practice evidence-based nursing.
• Skills & Equipment:
  • Provide individualized nursing care, coordinate with healthcare teams, monitor mother-infant bonding, and support breastfeeding journeys.

Qualifications

License/Certifications:

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 1 year - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or College Diploma in Nursing

Other Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties specific to the unit and maintain accurate documentation of nursing care.
• Conduct initial assessments and develop care plans based on patient and family needs.
• Implement and modify care plans based on continuous evaluation.
• Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting hazards and incidents.
• Provide education specific to the obstetric population and monitor fetal well-being.

Compensation and Benefits
